Rutlish Lodge is a very diverse Lodge with 25 members and 4 Honorary members. We have members who have joined over the past few years to members who have been in the Lodge for over 50 years.
Our membership is indeed multicultural, multilingual and very inclusive counting with members from different parts of the UK; from Somerset to Lancashire and the world; from the Andes to the Alps.
Members are from many walks of life from professionals in long standing careers to the retired and anything in between, and from grandparents, parents, single parents, single people and civil partnerships, it is a truly inclusive Lodge reflecting modern families and our diversity of life and cultures in the United Kingdom.
What does Freemasonry mean to our members:
‘Escape from the stress, anxiety, vagaries and general worries caused by everything else in life.’
‘The friendship, the camaraderie, the support we give to one another, and knowing that the charitable work will help someone in time of need.’
‘It’s to enjoy the camaraderie with like-minded people, better myself and support people in need in my local community and beyond.’
‘What I enjoy most about Freemasonry is meeting people from different walks of life, which under normal circumstances I would never meet.’
‘Friendship for life and being a good, helpful person to all I meet.’
‘Learning about Freemasonry and my journey. Attend Lodge meetings (and go to other Lodges and give support). Participate in ceremonies at the Lodge where possible. Socialise with other members, enjoy food, wine and good company after meetings at the Festive Board. Contribute to society, attending functions.’
